Where I Stayed in Lisbon, a Cozy Airbnb in Belem Review
I recently travelled to Lisbon, Portugal, for my first vacation of the year. I was excited to escape the gloomy weather in the UK and bask in the warm spring sun of Portugal (yes, I carried my sunscreen, of course!) 😉
The flight from the UK to Portugal took about three hours, and as soon as we landed, I felt the welcoming sun on my face. Soon, we were in the apartment in Belem, which we'd call home for the next few days.
Our host welcomed us with a bottle of wine and a thoughtful gift, including a quick tour of the apartment and invaluable tips on moving around to make us feel at home.
Though the Airbnb apartment is in a quiet residential area in Belem, we quickly found it's closer to a handful of Lisbon's vibrant tourist hot spots. Thanks to our host, who gave us invaluable tips on moving around, we quickly found the MAAT (Museum Art Architecture Technology), Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument of the Discoveries), Ponte 25 de Abril Bridge, Pastéis de Belém, Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, all within easy reach. Even the trendy LX Factory is a mere 15-minute taxi ride away.
That said, the apartment is a thoughtfully and fully equipped two-bedroom with everything you need to feel at home away from home. It has an air conditioner, decent Wi-Fi, a spacious wardrobe, natural light, and a view of the Tagus River. I love that you can quickly get a swift response when you contact the host.
However, since there are no lifts, you will have to climb a flight of stairs to get to the apartment. Apart from that, I had an enjoyable stay. You can book your stay via Airbnb.
