Five Spring Wardrobe Essentials

As springtime approaches, you may notice the gradual melting of ice and snow (depending on where you are, of course), the emergence of blooming flowers and green leaves, and the arrival of migrant birds; the weather during this time can vary, ranging from cold and cloudy to sunny and warm, and as we say goodbye to winter, we adjust our wardrobe to the incoming weather. In this post, I’ll share some outfits to inspire and excite you for spring.

Outerwear

Outerwear is an essential piece of clothing in spring for layering because the weather changes from cold and rainy to warm and sunny, depending on where you live. Layering with a lightweight trench coat, bomber jacket, or blazer can help you stay snug. For example, on a chilly spring day, you can wear black tailored pants, a white t-shirt, a pair of boots, and a black trench coat.

From light-wash jeans, skirts, and pants that come in varying prints, patterns, and solid colors, there are several styles, lengths, and fits to consider. So, whether you prefer classic denim, midi skirt, or faux leather pants, choose bottoms that make you feel confident and comfortable and suit your style. For example, you can wear blue light-wash ankle jeans, a white tank, a cream blazer, and ballet flats.

Tops are another essential to include in your spring wardrobe. Like bottoms, they come in different fits and colours, such as stripe shirts, oxford shirts, T-shirts, knits, cardigans, etc. For example, on warmer days, you can wear a blue button-down shirt, tailored linen pants, and black sandals.

Sneakers, ankle boots, chunky slides, heeled mules, loafers, and sandals are some shoes to consider as we transition into spring. For a casual look, wear a pair of sneakers or slide-on leather pants and a striped shirt; for a more dressy look, wear a pair of heeled ankle boots or mules worn with a crew neck jumper and skirt.

Accessories

Incorporating bags, belts, scarves, jewellery, and sunglasses is a fun and chic way of elevating any outfit. Belts help define the waist, sunglasses protect your eyes and complement your face, and jewellery pieces like earrings, bracelets, anklets, etc., can be worn as statement pieces.
