A Simplistic Daily Skincare Routine
Recently, I have realized that I have been consistent with my skincare routine, and I guess working from home has helped me keep my skincare regimen on track. Anyway, I am excited because this is the first time in a long time that I have been consistent with my skincare routine, and I thought why not share it. I have a combination skin type that is acne and blemish-prone. So, I consulted a skin expert who recommended the steps and products that I have highlighted below.
Cleanse
The first step in my skincare routine is removing dirt, makeup, excess oil, and sweat from my face with a gentle cleanser. I use the EltaMD foaming facial cleanser because it’s gentle and leaves my skin feeling clean and balanced. I use this in the morning and at night. The only downside for me is how long it takes to foam.
Prevent
Next, I use the Skinceuticals Silymarin CF. It’s an antioxidant serum explicitly formulated for oily and blemish-prone skin. It contains salicylic, ascorbic, and ferulic acid, which helps reduce blemishes, rough texture, fine lines, and wrinkles.
Though my skin is a work in progress, I’ve noticed a visible difference in its texture. I apply three drops of the product to my face and neck daily.
Correct
For my third step, I use the Skinceuticals Discoloration Defense Serum, an acid-based exfoliator that helps unclog my pores. It also helps in improving the blemish scars on my skin. What I like about the product is that it contains key ingredients like niacinamide and tranexamic acid. I apply 3 to 5 drops of the product to my face and neck in the morning and at night.
Protect
Lastly, I lather on sunscreen and the product I'm using at the moment is the Black Girl Sunscreen with SPF 50. I like this sunscreen because it doesn’t leave a white cast on my skin.
